Thugs allegedly attack protesters of 'bogus' pension package for former governor Oshiomhole

Edo civil society organizations and youths in the three senatorial districts embarked on a protest today against the bill for amendment for bogus pension for ex Governors and Deputies.

The Edo State House of Assembly had passed an amendment to the Law for Pension Rights which now stipulates the state builds a house worth  N200 million for the former governor Adams Oshiomhole and another worth N100 million for his deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu, as part of their retirement package. 

The bill also provides that the buildings could be sited in any location of their choice.

A Facebook user Osazee posted photos of bloodied protesters, alleging that they were attacked by thugs mobilized by the state government.
