40-year-old Victor Emafolomi has been
arrested by police in Ogun State for allegedly
raping and impregnating his 15-year-old
step-daughter.
Spokesman for the command,
Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest
to Premium Times said the suspect
committed the crime at Java Agbado in Ado-
Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state,
adding that Emafolomi was arrested
following a complaint filed by his wife, the
victim's mother.
"The mother, Taiwo Emafolomi, who
noticed that her daughter was
pregnant, pressurized the girl and she
eventually opened up to her mother
about how her step-father had been
making love to her for quite some
time, which resulted to the pregnancy",
he said.
After the pregnancy test on the girl came out
positive, the divisional police officer of
Agbado, Abioye Shittu, detailed detectives to
arrest the suspect.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed
Iliyasu, had ordered that the case be
transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking
and Child Labour.
