Brazilian football legend Carlos Alberto, who
scored one of the greatest World Cup goals in
the 1970 World Cup final has died in Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil following a heart attack. The
defender made 53 appearances for Brazil and
scored what is considered one of the greatest
goals in World Cup history, a fierce low strike
after a wonderful move in the 4-1 victory over
Italy in the 1970 final, which he'll forever be
remembered for.
One of his former clubs- Santos FC statement
read in a statement today: “He played 445
matches and scored 40 goals from
1965-1975, and is considered the best right-
back in the history of Praiano Alvinegro.”
'There will be a mourning period of three
days.' Thanks for everything' Peter Siemsen,
the president of another of his former club
Fluminense said: “Very sad about the loss of
our great captain Carlos Alberto Torres – one
of the best in the history of world football.
Formed in the Fluminense youth teams, the
captain had tricolor blood. He took part in one
of the great moments in the history of the
club.” Watch his great goal below:

May his soul Rest in Peace. Amen!
